Gospel Mt 28:16-20

The eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had ordered them. When they all saw him, they worshiped, but they doubted. Then Jesus approached and said to them, “All power in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age.”

Homily

The mystery of the Holy Trinity is perhaps the most unintelligible of mysteries, yet in some ways it is the most intelligible. We seem to think in threes more easily than we do in fours. I never forget the priest who taught my theology class the sacrament of marriage telling us that when a man marries, he marries three persons; a wife, a lover and a daughter. In the one individual there are three types of moments; moments when she is a wife; moments when she is a lover and moments when she is a daughter. The same thing happens with the woman who marries. What our professor was saying to us is that at different moments in life persons may show different qualities or facets.

Awareness is viagra free consultation primordial; it is the original state, beginningless, endless, uncaused, unsupported, without parts, without change……..” Awareness can exist without consciousness but consciousness cannot exist without awareness. Our doctors are free to prescribe whatever drugs they like whether on or tadalafil cost off-label. You may also order things that may be more delicate to the reactions of Vardenafil; accordingly, alert is prompted in purchase viagra without prescription this gathering. It has been found that over excitement and adrenalin can make a person feel weak and jittery. tadalafil free sample I have always found this to be particularly enlightening of the Trinity. Whereas in human beings we are really speaking of one person who can switch from one manifestation to another, in God we are speaking of manifestations which are so perfect that each manifestation is a true individuated person. God the Father is the One who creates; God the Son is the One who saves; God the Holy Spirit is the One who inspires and strengthens, not three Gods for there is only one God, but three divine Persons.

In the gospel given to us today for our meditation, the disciples are commanded by the risen Lord, before his Ascension to make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.”
Because of that command given to the disciples all of us have been baptized in the name of the Trinity. This baptism calls us therefore to live lives which are characterized by the values of the Trinity. In addition we all sign ourselves many times a day invoking the name of the Trinity, thus saying that we believe and live all that Trinity stands for.

And what does Trinity stand for. It stands first of all the creative energy of God the Father. God is first of all Creator and we join in the creative energy of God as we seek to make this world a place of Harmony as it was created and before the sin of our first parents. After the sin of our first parents, God immediately promised a redeemer who would reverse the effect of that primordial sin. The redeemer came to us in the person of Jesus Christ the Son whose life and work was about saving the world from the effects of the disobedience of our first parents. We enter into that saving energy of Christ when we teach by our lives all that the Lord has commanded us. Finally, the Holy Spirit was given to us so that men and women could continue the work of Jesus in the world today. The work of Jesus, we must understand is always spreading love which binds us together as One. To live according to the Spirit is to live according to the values of Jesus Christ and to do so with joy. Persons who have been baptized in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit are meant to be creative especially when it comes to finding ways of making God known and loved; they are meant to care about the spiritual welfare of others and they are meant to be zealous in transmitting the faith.

A look at the lives of the saints shows us that the saints all had these characteristics. They were creative in their approach to life, always sought ways of making God known and loved and were zealous about it. That is why Archbishop Pantin at the beginning of his episcopate went to live in Laventille; that is why Blessed Mother Teresa began her mission to street dwellers; that is why St. Francis espoused Lady Poverty. In the world of today, the popularity of Pope Francis has probably come about for the same reasons. As persons baptized in the name of the Trinity let us then seek to show in our lives the characteristics of Trinitarian persons.

Prayer

All powerful and ever-loving God, your Son Jesus commanded us to baptize in your name for You are Trinity. Help us to understand that Trinity is relationship but relationship in love. As persons baptized in the name of the Trinity and as people who sign ourselves daily in the name of the Trinity, help us to live the unity and harmony of the Trinity so that the world may be marked by the Trinity and reflect the values of the Trinity. We ask this through the intercession of Mary our mother and Jesus your Son. Amen
