INVISIBLE PEOPLE

Living on the street

Every day commuters pass.

Busy on their feet

Hiding behind their mask.

H. I. V infected

Silently we shed our tears.

Inside we feel neglected

Trying to overcome our fears.

Child labour on the rise

Children sold in the sex trade.

Unheard their cries

Invisible they begin to fade.

Injustice, inequality

Civil unrest and greed.

We close our eyes

Blind to those in need.

These we continue to neglect

We turn and walk away.

These we need to protect

Start to help today.

These invisible cries

Listen, love and embrace.

Let us open our eyes

We all belong to the human race.

THE BLEEDING HEART

The heart that bleeds

Silently and slowly breathes.

An outstretched hand

Helps a fellow man

Love keeps us alive

Allowing us to survive.

An unforgiving heart

Has no clear path.

It cannot grow

Love it cannot show.

In the ocean it is tossed

Forever it is lost.

The heart alone

Facing the unknown.

Seeking compassion

Life purpose and passion.

Looks to the sky

Where the answer lies.

A heart that is shattered

Is completely scattered.

An innocent soul

Lost to the world.

Hear us cry

As the well runs dry.

The heart of love

Is a gift from above.

Warm and kind

Peace you find.

All religion and race

All my heart embrace.

SAVE OUR CHILDREN

I came into this world

A little helpless soul.

Naked and lonely

Existed just me.

Lost without a thought

A warm embrace I sought.

A loving word

That’s what I heard.

I began this journey

An unknown destiny.

I need to be fed

At night tucked into bed.

Clothing to cover

Education to discover.

Lessons to learn

To you I turn.

A home to call my own

When I am grown.

The values from your heart

These shape my path.

Hear my cry

Before I die.

Please protect

Do not neglect.

Molested and abused

These I did not choose.

Raped of my dignity

Robed of my humanity.

Do not let me bleed

I am your seed.

Today I am born

Tomorrow I am gone.

CRY IN THE WILDERNESS

I have no name

Yet I bring shame.

In my mother’s womb

Life looks gloom.

Help I cry out!

Hear me shout.

Let me live

A chance give.

Hear my cry

Don’t let me die.

Inside I breathe

Your love I need.

My first breath

Instead of death.

My first step to walk

My first words to talk.

Discovering the world

Inspiring your soul.

I want my childhood

Only if I could.

With children to play

I want to stay.

You have to decide

To keep me at your side.

I need to grow

Your love show.

I need your touch

And warmth so much.

Allow me to flourish

Your seed nourish.

I know you care

Nine months try to bear.

The pain I bring

A happy song I sing.

Hear my scream

It is not a dream.

THE WORLD CRIES

In this crazy world

Where hearts are cold.

Lands are ruined

Destroyed by famine.

Man plays his game

Pointing hands to blame.

Pain and strives

The daily lost of lives.

Billions spent on war

Opening a new door.

Weapons made to kill

The world stands still.

People are dying

Children are crying.

Millions are hungry

Millions are angry.

People are in need

Dictatorship takes lead.

Silent their voices

Denied their choices.

The world cries out

One voice will shout

No to destruction and greed

Love is what we need.

THE POWER OF WORDS

Words can create

Or instill hate.

Inspiring a soul

Transforming the world.

Words can unite

Giving us light

Words instill pride

And they divide.

Words are strong

Right or wrong.

They can shake

And hearts brake.

Words are productive

Some are destructive.

Building a road

With one little word.

Words make us cry

And motivate us to try.

Teaching us to live

And compassion give.

Words like seeds

Continuously breathes.

They are alive

In us they survive.

Words we yearn

Inside us they burn.

Acts of love

Problems they solve.

Words we can feel

Souls they can heal.

Words we appreciate

Imaginations they captivate.

Words are our choice

We have the voice.

Leaving a mark

Creating a spark.

A WOMAN’S WORTH

I am your mother

I love and protect.

There is no other

Teaching you respect.

Values from my heart

Wisdom I breathe

These I impart

With dignity I lead.

I am your daughter

To you I turn.

Please do not slaughter

For love I yearn.

I need you to guide

Understanding give

In the way you live.

I am your sister

I advice and support.

I soothe your blister

Genuine is my thought.

In me you confine

I am always there

My words are kind

I will always care.

I am your wife

Friend and lover.

A rose in your life

With me you discover.

Your heart and soul

A gem in your eyes

I am your world

I am your sunrise.

I am a woman

Sensitive and kind.

Part of a great plan.

Golden is my mind

Love, honour and respect.

A blessing from above

Do not neglect all I want is love.

I take pride

MISSING IN ACTION

As I begin to grow

There was a missing face.

My dad I did not know

He was absent from this place.

Preschool, elementary and high

There was no one to call dad.

At times I would cry

That made me sad.

There was no male to teach

None to direct and guide.

A helping hand to reach

None was at my side.

There was no father to love

Kindness and compassion to show.

Problems to resolve

These I remember as I grow.

I dropped out of school

A life on the run.

My books was my gun

I thought that was cool.

A life of crime

That’s how I live.

That’s how I spend my time

Things for my son I could give.

I am behind these walls

Looking through these bars.

After many falls

Looking at my scars.

My son I can’t see

Creating a negative reaction.

With him I can’t be

I am missing in action.
