There is so much that you and I can learn from the nuggets of wisdom shared by Fr Matthew and Rhonda. Our society and the world yearn for justice, peace and for communities to live together as God intended.

Reflections on the Caribbean Court of Justice

“…in an ideal world, Commonwealth countries – including those in the Caribbean – would stop using the Privy Council and set up their own final courts of appeal instead” (Lord Phillips, 2009).

In December 2012, the Caribbean Court of Justice (CCJ) launched its Strategic Plan for 2013 to 2017 under the theme Responsive, Innovative, Inspirational. Its Mission is clear: “To protect and promote the rule of law as a court of final appeal and as guardian of the Revised Treaty of Chaguaramas by guaranteeing accessibility, fairness, efficiency and transparency, delivering clear and just decisions in a timely manner.”

Charity, social justice must be coupled with prayer, pope says

All pastoral work, including promoting social justice and providing for the poor, must be nourished by prayer, Pope Benedict XVI said.
Without contemplating and internalizing God’s word daily, one risks being suffocated by too heavy a workload and one’s heart risks hardening to the wisdom of the Holy Spirit, he said.

Justice and Peace Seminar ends on positive note

“Let’s keep together.” These were the parting words of Bishop Emmanuel Lafont of the Diocese of Cayenne, French Guiana and Chair of the AEC Justice and Peace (AEC J&P) Commission, to the 19 participants who attended the AEC Justice & Peace Seminar at the Regional Seminary of St John Vianney and the Uganda Martyrs on September 12 and 13.
