Praying the Divine Mercy Rosary, with reflections on Sacred Spaces and Social Justice Prayers

CCSJ embarked on a Project to take photographs of the interior and exterior of all Catholic Churches and some Chapels in our Archdiocese. One of our goals is to remind Catholics that our Churches and Chapels are sacred spaces. We used the photographs as a backdrop against which members of staff at The Chancery were taped  while they prayed the Divine Mercy Rosary.

Fr Joe’s Gospel Reflection May 1 – Second Sunday of Easter [A] (Divine Mercy Sunday)

by Fr Joseph Harris, CSSp

Gospel: Jn 20:19-31

On the evening of that first day of the week, when the doors were locked, where the disciples were, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in their midst and said to them, “Peace be with you.” When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side. The disciples rejoiced when they saw the Lord. Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you.”

We must practise mercy

Leela Ramdeen

by Leela Ramdeen, Chair, CCSJ

“Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; for His mercy endures forever.” (Ps 117:1).

Today the Church celebrates the Feast of Divine Mercy. Have you read: Divine Mercy In My Soul – a compilation of Sister Faustina Kowalska’s diaries in which she recorded revelations she received about God’s mercy? Pope John Paul II canonised her on April 30, 2000.
